CASA 101 on January 11th

If you've ever wanted to become an advocate or learn more about how you can volunteer with Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children, CASA 101 is the training session for you! CASA 101 is an informative group meeting with CASA staff. This program must be attended prior to attending any training series and the hours count towards the total hours needed to be sworn in as an advocate. It is only necessary to attend ONE CASA 101 session.


There will be a CASA 101 Session THIS Tuesday, January 11, from 6PM to 8PM at the CASA office in Springdale.


Additionally, there will be CASA 101 Sessions:

  • February 8, 10AM to 12PM
  • February 11, 10AM to 12PM
  • February 15, 10AM to 12PM

If you are interested in becoming an advocate, you must first attend one session of CASA 101 then complete either are night or day training series.

The Night Training Series takes place at the CASA office and occurs from 6PM to 9PM with snacks provided:

  • Tuesday January 18, Thursday January 20
  • Tuesday January 25, Thursday January 27
  • Tuesday February 1, Thursday February 3
  • Tuesday February 8, Thursday February 10

The Day Training Series takes place at the CASA office and occurs from 9AM to 3PM with snacks and lunch provided:

  • Monday February 28
  • Thursday March 3
  • Friday March 4
  • Monday March 7
  • Thursday March 10

You must complete CASA 101, one full training series (8 nights or 5 days), along with reading, homework, and court observation (for 3 hours); Totaling 30 hours to obtain your advocate certificate. If you have questions please call Shelley Hart at 479-725-2213 or email her at Shelley@nwacasa.org.
